Special COVID19 Alert!

 

To safely address COVID 19, Mount Zion Baptist Church’s physical building will remain closed for in-person gatherings until further notice.  In-person gatherings include Sunday Church Services, Sunday School Classes, Bible Studies, AWANA, meetings, and practices held inside.  We are continuing to closely monitor developments within our state and recommendations from the Virginia Department of Health on how best to reopen safely and look forward to doing so as soon as the time is right. In the mean time we will continue with our Virtual events.

 

 
Welcome

Mount Zion Baptist Church is located in beautiful scenic Powhatan County, Virginia.  We are a church anchored on the solid preaching and teaching of the Holy Bible.  We extend to you a warm Christian welcome and invite you to join us for services whenever you can. Church School begins with devotion and breakfast at 9:00 a.m. followed by morning worship service at 11:00. Bible Study classes are held on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. If you are in search of a church home, we invite you to join our congregation here at Mount Zion Baptist Church.

 
Bible Scripture for the Quarter

After Jesus rises from the dead, he appears to two believers traveling on the road to Emmaus. Read Chapter 24 of the Gospel of Luke to see others that Jesus appeared to after his resurrection. As you read, center in on the verses below to see how Jesus used scripture to show the two travelers how his suffering was his path to glory:
